A trip to Walt Disney World is every child’s dream. Cinderella’s Castle, Mickey Mouse, roller coasters, and great Disney snacks, what else could you ask for. And when you think of all these dreams, you think of the Disney Magic Kingdom.
The Magic Kingdom is the iconic Disney Park. There is so much to do and see at the Magic Kingdom it’s impossible to do everything in one day. These are the top 5 things I do every time I visit the Disney’s Magic Kingdom!
1. Main Street USA
The first thing you see at when you walk under the Magic Kingdom Railroad is Main Street USA. Main Street USA is designed after Walt’s small town in Kansas. The store fronts are everything you would expect to see in a typical small town. There is so much to do and see on Main Street, you could almost spend half a day here alone.
But when most people are walking down Main Street, they are in a hurry to get to an attractions or take a picture in front of the castle. Main Street is a magical place so take a few minutes to enjoy the view.
Main Street has the Emporium, Casey’s Corner, the Plaza restaurant, the Confectionary, the Main Street Theater, Tony’s Town Square, Starbucks, and many more. Take a second to walk through many of these shops and restaurants. You’re guaranteed to find a new souvenir or experience every time!

2. Visit the Three Mountains
No trip to the Disney Magic Kingdom is complete without riding Space Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain, and Splash Mountain. These three rides are thrill rides but are tame enough for the entire family.
Space Mountain is one of the original steel roller coasters in the world. It is also the first roller coaster in complete darkness. Besides the historical importance, Space Mountain is my all time favorite Disney World ride. You really don’t go that fast but the hair pin turns offer a thrill unlike any other!
Big Thunder Mountain is a family friendly roller coaster that brings you on the “wildest ride in the wilderness”. This coaster is a bit rickety but this one is fun for little kids and parents alike. I loved this ride when I was 8 and I still love it as an adult!
Splash Mountain is your typical “log” ride with a Disney twist. In recent months, it was announced that Splash Mountain will be re-themed. Currently, Splash Mountain is themed after the controversial movie Song of the South but after the revamp, Splash Mountain will be themed after the Princess and the Frog.
Note: You can get wet on Splash Mountain. Based on my personal experience, you get the most wet in the first two rows of your log. If you’re looking to stay dry, stay towards the back of the boat.
Tip: Bring along a portable fan because it can get extremely hot in line for Splash Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain.
3. Visit Mickey Mouse
Every trip to the Disney Magic Kingdom should be accompanied with a visit to the mouse himself! The entire Disney company is created based on this mouse so it’s a necessity!
Mickey Mouse is located at all four parks and many of the Disney resorts so you’ll have plenty of opportunities to meet him!
At the Magic Kingdom, Mickey Mouse is located at the Main Street Theater. The Main Street Theater is immediately to your right when you walk under the Magic Kingdom Railroad station.
If you plan to get your picture with Mickey, do it first thing in the morning or late in the event for the shortest lines. No trip to Disney is complete without seeing the mouse himself!

4. Cinderella’s Castle
Cinderella’s Castle also known as the “Disney castle” is one of the most famous icons in the world. Walking down Main Street USA and seeing Cinderella’s Castle is one of the greatest feelings in the world.
If you’re visiting Disney with kids, make sure to watch your kids expressions. Seeing Disney through your kids eyes offers an entirely different perspective.
Everyone and their brother will be taking photos in front of the castle. Make sure to take your photos right in front of the castle. This will prevent too many people from being in your pictures.

5.Watch the Disney Magic Kingdom Fireworks
A day at Disney’s Magic Kingdom isn’t complete without watching the fireworks over Cinderella’s Castle. I’ve seen the nighttime shows like Happily Ever After and Wishes dozens of times and I still get chills.
Make sure to take time beforehand to find the perfect watching spot. I would suggest finding your spot about 45 minutes before the show starts. There are many trees in the hub area so make sure your viewing spot has a clear view of the castle Grab your favorite Magic Kingdom snack and prepare for the magic!
