Disney Bus Transportation
The largest form of Disney transportation is the Disney World bus system. If you’re looking to go most places on Disney property, there is a good chance a Disney bus will take you there.
The Disney World bus system picks you up from every Walt Disney World resort and brings you to the Disney Parks, Disney Waterparks, Disney Springs and even the ESPN Wide World of Sports.
So how does the Disney bus system work? Each Disney World resort, Disney Park and Disney Springs has designated bus stations.
Now each Disney World resort has one or more Disney bus stations where you can catch a bus to the Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney Springs, etc. Each Disney bus will be clearly marked with their Disney destination.
A few Disney World resorts have multiple Disney bus stations located throughout their property. The Disney resorts with multiple Disney World bus stations are very large like Coronado Springs, Caribbean Beach, Saratoga Springs, etc.
When you check in at your Disney resort, make sure to ask where the closest Walt Disney World bus station is.
If you’re at a Disney World park, there will be signs pointing to the Disney Park bus station. At the Disney bus stop, each Disney resort will have their own queue to wait for your bus.
Each Disney World Park also has a designated bus to Disney Springs starting in the afternoon. So you can go directly from the Disney Park to Disney Springs.
The Disney Springs bus station is centrally located in Disney Springs. It’s important to note that a Disney bus should come every 10 to 15 minutes regardless if you’re at your Disney resort or a Disney World park.
For those that have never experienced the Disney bus system, there are plenty of seats on the bus. But during peak hours and non-COVID times, Disney buses will be loaded with guests standing so more people can be transported quickly.
It’s especially important to remember that the Disney Springs bus stop is very busy during evenings and weekends. Make sure to tack a little bit of time for Disney transportation during these hours.
Disney World transportation 2021 is starting to normalize again so be prepared for Disney buses to be filled with people as we move through 2021 and 2022.

Disney World Water Transportation
Asides from the Disney World bus transportation, the other most robust form of Disney World transportation is the Disney water transportation.
So what is the Disney World boat transportation? There are several places on Disney World property where you can take boats to get to your destination.
There are two Disney boat transportation systems that bring you to the Disney theme parks. You can take a Disney boat ride from Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, Disney’s Polynesian Resort or Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort to the Magic Kingdom.
Along the same vein, you can take a Disney World ferry ride from Disney’s Boardwalk, Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club, or the Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort to Epcot and Hollywood Studios.
Besides Disney transportation to the theme parks, you can take a Disney boat ride from Port Orleans and Saratoga Springs to Disney Springs!
The Disney water transportation may be slower than other forms of Disney transportation but being on the water at Disney is relaxing and magical!
Make sure to try out one of the Disney World boat rides while experiencing Disney World’s transportation!
Disney World Skyliner System
The newest form of Disney transportation is the Disney World Skyliner System. In my opinion, Disney’s Skyliner is the most fun and efficient form of Disney World transportation.
The Disney Skyliner stops at several Disney World resorts and two Disney World theme parks. The Disney Skyliner hotels are Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, Disney’s Pop Century Resort, Disney’s Riveria Resort, and Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort.
Additionally, the Disney World Skyliner stops at Epcot and Hollywood Studios. The Disney Skyliner travel times are between 5 and 15 minutes making it the fastest Disney World transportation.
My honest Disney World Skyliner review is that it’s like any other Disney ride. You have the ability to bring the Disney Park back to your Disney Skyliner resort with you!
There’s lots of information you need to know about the Disney Skyliner, the Disney World Skyliner map, the Disney Skyliner route but for more information, check out our Disney World Skyliner review!
Disney Monorail
One of the most magical form of Walt Disney World transportation is the Disney World monorail!
The Disney Monorail is the original form of Disney transportation which was there when Walt Disney World opened 50 years ago.
The Disney monorail operates similarly to a subway system but completely above ground. Both Disney World and Disneyland monorails have been operating safely for years.
The Disney World monorail takes you high above the sky transporting Disney guests between Disney monorail hotels and the Disney theme parks.
The Disney World monorail hotels are Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Disney’s Polynesian Resort, and Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort.
Additionally, Disney guests can take the Walt Disney World monorail to the Magic Kingdom and Epcot.
Unlike some other forms of Disney transportation, the Disney monorail has a change station at the Magic Kingdom ticket and transportation center.
If you want to take the Disney monorail from the Magic Kingdom to Epcot, you will need to change monorails.
And like the Disney Skyliner, the Disney World monorail is similar to a ride so you MUST try it at least once on your Disney vacation!
Disney Airport Shuttle Bus
Finally, the Disney airport bus will be changing in 2022. But there will still be some Disney airport transportation to get from the Orlando airport to Disney property.
For the past several years, the best Disney transportation from MCO to the Disney resorts was the Magical Express. Starting January 1, 2022, there will be no more Magical Express. But there will be a new form of Disney transportation from Orlando to Disney World.
But for those using Disney transportation in 2021, the Disney Magical Express picks up at the Orlando airport and drops you off directly at your Disney World resort.
At the end of your Disney vacation, the Magical Express picks you back up and brings you back to the Orlando airport. The Disney Magical Express is included in your Disney vacation at no extra charge to you.
In 2022, the new Disney airport transportation will be operated by Mears. Honestly, the Mears Shuttle to Disney will likely be very similar to the Disney Magical Express.
One of the major differences is that the Mears Shuttle to Disney will have a cost. At this point, it’s not clear how much the new Disney airport shuttle will be.
If you don’t want to mess with Disney’s Magical Express or the Mears Shuttle to Disney, you can always use non-Disney transportation like Uber and Lyft.
Disney World Transportation
There are four major types of Disney World transportation. But there are many others forms of transportation at Disney that I didn’t cover like Uber, Lyft, and Minnie Vans.
One of the major perks to using Walt Disney World transportation is that it’s all free. Each form of Disney transportation is operating constantly throughout normal Disney park hours. So you don’t need to spend time prepping on Disney transportation hours.
PIN ME FOR LATER!
If you haven’t already, I would recommend checking out each Disney transportation system. They are all different and unique.
Additionally, if you have a non-park day, you could consider doing the Disney monorail bar crawl or the Disney Skyliner bar crawl. Either Disney bar crawl is a great way to see the Disney transportation and other Disney World resorts.
