State of California Theme Park Guidelines
The State of California has been Disney’s biggest obstacle to reopening during the pandemic. On March 5, California announced theme parks could reopen at 15% capacity once the county they reside in enters the COVID red zone.
The capacity level will increase in tiers as COVID numbers decrease in the theme park’s county.
These reopening guidelines indicate that indoor rides are not allowed to open so the Disneyland reopening will only feature outdoor attractions.
Initially, California theme parks will only be reopened to California residents. Additionally, indoor dining is also not allowed at this time and outdoor dining will require advanced reservations.
Touch of Disney
Right before the State of California announced a theme park reopening plan, Disney introduced the Touch of Disney event. Touch of Disney is a special ticketed event at Disney’s California Adventure starting in mid-March.
A Touch of Disney will offer famous Disneyland food and beverages, a chance to see Disney characters, shop new Disney merchandise, and take one-of-a-kind Disney photos.
The famous food items include Dole Whip, Monte Cristo Sandwiches, and many other foods in snack portions.
Disney guests will also have the opportunity to visit dining locations such as Lamplight Lounge and Carthay Circle Lounge. Dining reservations need to be made to dine at any of Disney’s California Adventure restaurants or lounges.
You can attend Touch of Disney Thursday-Mondays 12 PM – 8 AM starting March 18th, 2021.
Tickets for this event cost $75 and include admission, parking, unlimited PhotoPass downloads, and a $25 dining card that can be used at select California Adventure dining locations. It’s important to note that tickets must be purchased in advance.
