Walt Disney World Halloween and Fall Guide

Disney World Fall and Halloween Tips and Tricks!

Fall at Disney World is one of the most magical places on earth. Disney fall decorations cover the Magic Kingdom , the Disney Parks, and even Disney resorts.

Disney World fall 2021 will be no exception with the bright fall colors, Halloween decorations and unique Disney fall snacks and treats.

While the Disney Halloween and fall seasons have looked a little different in recent years, Disney World Halloween is always magical.

Disney Magic Kingdom Halloween

Disney’s Magic Kingdom Halloween is the crowned jewel of Walt Disney World Halloween celebrations. Every year, the Magic Kingdom Halloween decorations go up in late August and remain throughout October.

Main Street USA at the Magic Kingdom is filled with bright fall colors, Mickey pumpkins, and of course, Disney Halloween decorations and costumes!

Halloween at Disney

If you plan to do one thing during the fall at Disney, make sure to visit the Magic Kingdom Halloween decorations. Main Street U.S.A is lined with orange and yellow leaves, Mickey shaped pumpkins, fun scare crows, and other fun decorations.

For Disney Halloween 2020, the Magic Kingdom featured Halloween themed character cavalcades, special Halloween treats and for the first time ever, Disney is lifting their restrictions on Halloween costumes.

Almost every year, Disney hosts the Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party but it’s been cancelled this year in favor of Disney’s Boo Bash. I’ll go into a little detail about both Disney Halloween parties because they both may occur in the future.

Disney’s Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party 2021 Cancelled

Traditionally, the Disney World Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween party is the premier Disney Halloween party and event each year.

Disney’s Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party is usually filled with Halloween costumes, Disney trick or treating, Hall-O-Wishes, exclusive character greetings, special ride overlays, a Hocus Pocus spectacular, and much more!

Additionally, included in your Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween party ticket is Mickey bars, Halloween candy, and your other favorite Magic Kingdom snacks!

Unfortunately, Disney can’t hold Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party 2021 because some of these party offerings aren’t available at Disney World for Halloween 2021.

The Disney World Mickey Halloween party was a huge draw for many people to come down to Disney World in the fall! I wouldn’t be surprised if Disney’s Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party returned in 2022!

But for now, what Disney Halloween Party will there be in 2021?

Disney’s Boo Bash

In 2021, Disney introduced the Disney Boo Bash in place of Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. So what is Disney’s Boo Bash?

The Disney World Boo Bash is an after hours event occurring on select nights between August 10 and October 31, 2021. On these nights, the Disney Halloween Party will start at 9 or 9:30 PM going until 12 or 12:30 AM.

Disney Boo Bash tickets will cost between $129 and $199 depending on which night you attend this Disney World Halloween party.

The Disney World Boo Bash will feature special Disney Halloween parades or cavalcades with your favorite Disney characters like Mickey and Minnie and the Disney villains like Jack Skellington and Oogie Boogie.

Since this is a Disney after hours event, attendees will enjoy really short Disney ride wait times.  And the Disney Boo Bash will feature free Disney snacks like Mickey bars, popcorn and more!

Disney World Halloween snacks will also be sold during the Magic Kingdom Halloween party.

I’ve already been hearing the Disney Boo Bash tickets are a hot commodity. There are already several nights the Disney World Boo Bash is soldout.

If you’re looking to attend this Disney World Halloween party 2021, make sure to buy your Boo Bash tickets soon!

Fall at Epcot – International Food and Wine Festival

Epcot Halloween isn’t much of a thing. But during the Epcot fall season, Disney’s Epcot International Food and Wine Festival is another premier Disney fall activity.

Many people consider Epcot’s International Food and Wine Festival the best Disney fall event and one of their favorite Disney events of the year.

During the Disney fall and Halloween seasons, this Epcot festival features unique food marketplaces, culinary demonstrations, fun entertainment, merchandise and many other exclusive events.

The Disney Epcot International Wine and Food Festival food marketplaces are all located in Epcot’s World Showcase. This Epcot festival feature delicious flavors and drinks from Brazil, Hawaii, India and many more.

Epcot Wine and Food Festival

Thankfully, Epcot Wine and Food Fest 2021 will look much more normal. The Epcot Food and Wine Fest at Epcot’s World Showcase features over 20 food booths.

The Epcot Food and Wine Fest also has entertainment, and touches of Disney’s Flower and Garden Festival with beautiful flowers and topiaries.

While Disney’s Epcot International Food and Wine Festival, isn’t Halloween themed, this event shouldn’t be missed during fall or Halloween at Disney World!

Hollywood Studios Halloween

During September and October, Disney’s Hollywood Studios Halloween features dining at Hollywood & Vine.

Disney’s Hollywood & Vine is a Hollywood Studios character dining location that features Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, and Goofy all dressed up for Halloween.

This special Hollywood Studios Halloween event is typically a buffet but the menu has changed in 2020 to accommodate safety procedures. Check out the menu at Disney World’s webpage!

If you’re looking to see the characters in special Halloween costumes, make sure to check out this Halloween event at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Halloween is going to look a little different this year so make sure to decorate your house for Halloween

It’s also important to note that Animal Kingdom Halloween hasn’t been much of an event. Typically, Animal Kingdom doesn’t do much for Halloween.

Disney World Resort Halloween

Like the Magic Kingdom, many of the Disney World resorts are dressed up in Halloween and fall decorations.

Many of the Disney World Resorts at Halloween feature yummy Halloween snacks and treats. On off days, I love to visit the other Walt Disney World resorts to look at the Halloween decorations and try all the fall snacks!

Many of the Disney Parks and resorts also feature unique Disney Halloween merchandise. If you like yellow, orange, and purple, make sure to pick up these special Halloween at Disney World souvenirs.

Disney Halloween Merch

Disney World Halloween is going to look a little different  this year. But I still recommend visiting Disney World at Halloween because it’s a magical experience, especially if you love the fall or Halloween.

Disney World is decorated in fall colors, the Disney parks smell like fall, and you truly get in the Halloween spirit. If you haven’t visited Disney World in the fall, you should definitely consider going in the future!

Disney Halloween Merchandise and Treats

Halloween at Walt Disney World isn’t complete without fun Disney Halloween merchandise and snacks! Make sure to get a Disney Halloween Spirit shirt or the fun Disney Minnie Ears!

Also in 2021, make sure to try the Disney Halloween Cinnamon Roll with orange frosting at the Main Street Bakery. Also, make sure to try the Hades Nachos with buffalo chicken and nacho cheese at Disney’s Pecos Bills!

  1. I would love to visit Disney during each of the major holidays, but I bet Halloween is especially fun with everyone dressed up and the way they dress up the park as well. This gets me excited to be able to travel again and for Halloween as well!

  2. I always loved this with my kids when they were little. They are teens now, and are too chicken for Hollywood Horror Nights. Disney is truly dreamy this time of year with all of the decorations. Love it.

  3. Great stuff, Kelsey. I haven’t been to Disney since I was like 8 haha. But it seems like it would cool to go back, especially during Halloween. Hopefully COVID-19 starts clearing up so we can all go back to supporting amusement parks and fun destinations. Thanks for sharing,

  4. I’ve been to Disney once during the fall and it was magical! I love these pictures and am so happy some of the magic is alive despite the pandemic!

  5. Hallowe’en costumes and Disney World combined?!?! It’s my daughters dream come true. I wish we could travel this fall, but will keep this in mind for future travels, as she’s been asking to go to Disney for ages.

  6. I LOVE WDW at halloween! Not so scary party is hands down one of my favourite experiences as I love Jack Skellington! Can’t wait to go back some day 🙂
