Disney’s Toy Story Land

One of the newest additions to Walt Disney World is Toy Story Land. Toy Story Land is built on 11 acres near the back of Hollywood Studios located near the former Backlot Tour.  When visiting Toy Story Land, you truly feel immersed in the Toy Story movies.

If you or your kids haven’t seen the Toy Story movies, make sure to watch these movies before your Disney World vacation! 

You will shrink down to the size of Buzz, Woody, and the rest of you favorite Toy Story characters at Disney World’s Hollywood Studios. Toy Story Land features 3 incredible themed rides and a delicious dining location.

Toy Story Land also features some of the most incredible theming at Disney World. All of Toy Story Land is covered in bright colors, your favorite childhood toys, and Toy Story characters. You actually get to feel like your standing in Andy’s room!

Many of the Toy Story characters come out for meet and greets too. Keep reading for the ultimate Toy Story Land tips and tricks! 

Slinky Dog Dash Coaster 

The hottest ride located in Disney’s Toy Story Land is the Slinky Dog Dash Roller Coaster! While Slinky Dog Dash is a roller coaster, this is a family friendly roller coaster that is loved by young kids and even adults. 

Slinky Dog Dash is similar to Goofy’s Barnstormer and is a great “first” roller coaster for kids. Despite the fact that Slinky Dog is a tamer roller coaster, it has fun twists, turns, bumps, and even a few hills that also make Slinky Dog a great coaster for Disney adult vacations too.

If you’re like me and loved Toy Story as a little kid, you’ll love the giant Toy Story characters you’ll pass while on Slinky Dog. You’ll also love the wind up halfway through the ride and the commentary by Slinky himself. You get to experience what it really feels like to be a toy!

The Slinky Dog is the ultimate Disney roller coaster and a great addition to Toy Story Land. This Disney ride should be on the top of your list for your next Disney vacation!

The Slinky Dog Dash is notorious for having one of the longest wait times at Walt Disney World. If your looking to get a Fastpass for Toy Story Land, make sure to try and snag a Slinky Dog Dash Fastpass!

If your aren’t able to get a Slinky Dog Fastpass, make sure to rope drop at Hollywood Studios and go straight for Slinky Dog Dash. Either Fastpasses or rope drop will save you tons of time at Disney’s Hollywood Studios 

Disney’s Toy Story Mania 

My personal favorite ride in Disney’s Toy Story Land is Toy Story Mania. If you like games, are competitive, or love Buzz Lightyear’s Ranger Spin, you NEED to check out Toy Story Mania. For years, this ride carried a really long wait time but the waits have been slightly less with the opening of Slinky Dog Dash. 

Toy Story Mania puts you inside your favorite carnival games. Put on your 4D glasses and play your favorite carnival games with the help of your favorite Toy Story characters.

During each carnival game, you’ll earn points. At the end of all the games, your points will be totaled and the winner will be announced. If you like to compete against your family and friends, you’ll love this Toy Story ride! 

The trick to scoring the most points at Toy Story Mania is all in how you pull the rope. Make sure to pull it back but don’t pull it all the way back. This will save time and ultimately help you outscore your family! 

If you don’t happen to get a Slinky Dog Fastpass, make sure to use one of your Fastpasses on Toy Story Mania! 

Alien Swirling Saucers 

The other ride located in Toy Story Land is the Alien Swirling Saucers. Your favorite three eyed Aliens got their own ride and will take you on a spin through Toy Story Land in Orlando.

While this Toy Story ride is cute and fun for little ones, it’s not worth a long wait time. If you love the Mad Tea Party at the Magic Kingdom, this ride is very similar. 

Speaking of your favorite three eyed aliens, this is one of my favorite low key Halloween costumes/Disney park shirts! This is a great shirt to wear on your Hollywood Studios park day! 

The Alien Swirling Saucer ride features very cute theming and is a great Disney ride. If there is no wait, make sure to ride the Alien Saucers but don’t waste precious Disney park time waiting in line for this Toy Story ride!  

The Alien Swirling Saucers do give some people motion sickness. If you’re prone to motion sickness, I would pick up some Dramamine before visiting Disney or riding Alien Swirling Saucers. 

Woody’s Lunchbox

The only restaurant in Toy Story Land is Woody’s Lunchbox. The food at Woody’s Lunchbox is reminiscent of childhood so they serve many of your favorite childhood foods. 

Woody’s Lunchbox has many famous food items like 3 Cheese Grilled Cheese, home made Pop Tarts, and “grown-up” lemonade. 

Woody’s Lunchbox is located between Toy Story Mania and Alien Swirling Saucers in the heart of Toy Story Land. For more information on Woody’s Lunchbox, check out the Disney World webpage! 

In the future, Disney plans to build a sit down restaurant in Toy Story Land, Roundup Rodeo BBQ.
