New Brightline Train Station Coming to Disney Springs

Brightline at Disney Springs

In late November, Disney and Brightline released new information on their contract to build a train station at Disney World.

Brightline will be building a train station at Disney Springs.  Florida visitors will now have easy access to the Disney parks while in Florida!

More Brightline Disney Springs Info

The Brightline train system will connect Southern Florida to Orlando and the Walt Disney World resort.  The Disney Springs train station will also connect with the Orlando International Airport to Disney!

“Brightline will offer a car-free connection to the millions of visitors from around the state and the world who plan to make  Walt Disney World Resort part of their vacation plans,” said Brightline President Patrick Goddard in a statement.  For more information on the Brightline contract with Walt Disney World, check out the Brightline webpage

As of now, there are planned Brightline stations at Walt Disney World resort, Orlando International Airport, Miami, Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach, Boca Raton, Aventura, and Port Miami. Brightline is also considering an expansion to Tampa so this route may be available in the future!

Trips between Miami and Disney World will take about 3 hours and 15 minutes. Additionally, a trip between the Orlando International Airport and Disney Springs will be about 15 minutes.

You will now have a new transportation option from the Orlando International Airport to Disney World.

Disney’s Magical Express will not be going away though.  If you prefer the motor coach directly to your Disney resort, you’ll still have the Magical Express option.

If you do choose to take the Brightline Disney Springs train, you will have to take a Disney bus to your Disney World resort or Disney theme park!

The Brightline station at Disney Springs will take roughly 2 or 3 years to construct but timelines aren’t firm at this point.  And the exact  location at Disney Springs has not been announced yet either.

The Brightline expansion from Southern Florida to the Orlando International Airport is slated to be complete in approximately 2022.  With this timeline, I would optimistically think the Brightline Disney Springs station would be complete in 2022 as well.

How Will the Brightline Disney Springs Station Enhance Your Disney Trip?

Despite Orlando, many other areas of Florida bring in millions of tourists each year.  Florida is a huge state and the lack of transportation options often prohibited tourists from visiting more than one region of Florida.

With Brightline train stations and the expansion throughout Florida, tourists will now have the option to travel all over the state via train.

In my opinion, many people didn’t visit Disney on past Florida vacations because of the lack of transportation options throughout the state and the lack of ease. With the new Brightline Disney Springs station, many people will now be able to spend a day or two at Disney World more easily.

This has the capacity to increase Disney crowds as there will probably be more one or two day Disney visitors.

The new Brightline Disney Springs stations will also increase annual passholders and Florida visitors. Families from Miami or Southern Florida could easily hop on a Brightline train and spend a day or two at Disney.

PIN ME FOR LATER!

Overall, the Brightline Disney Springs station will increase your transportation options throughout the state of Florida and also has the ability to increase Disney park crowds in the future!

You should look forward to this new transportation option coming to the Walt Disney World resort soon!
